Graphic arts

Graphics is an art of a drawing. A graphical image consists mainly of lines, strokes, dots etc. This art form can be considered similar to painting, but with certain distinctive features. For example, graphic arts, as a rule, do not use colors. The works of such artists are usually in one color (black) but there can be graphics that turn to other colors. Although a graphical image is much less complex than a painting, its ideological and aesthetic meaning can be as significant as the one of the classical painting. Artists creating graphic images can create not only separate works, but also series of works united by a single theme.
Graphic arts can be divided into easel graphic art and applied graphic art. Easel graphic art can be considered a separate entity, while applied graphic images are the images that are in any way connected with other types of activity or creative work (like industrial graphics or illustration).
Graphic art used in books is used not only for design purposes (the cover, dust cover, title, an illustration both at the beginning and at the end of the book). Its main goal is to reveal the main idea of the literary work and to disclose its ideas and images as much as possible, as well as to internally correspond to its deepest meaning. So that's why an illustration in a book is not only a copy of the text, but the artist's own artistic interpretation, the result of real creative work.
Among the subtypes of graphic arts is the creation of placards, caricatures and industrial graphics.
